Good learning doesn't happen by accident.
At The Study Nook, learning is carefully structured so students understand what they're doing, why it matters and how to apply their knowledge independently.
The Study Nook approach
-
Students aren’t expected to simply know how to annotate, analyse, plan or explain ideas.
New skills are clearly explained, modelled and practised.
-
Skills build in complexity over time, allowing students to connect new learning to what they already understand.
-
Students learn why a strategy matters rather than simply memorising a series of steps.
-
Scaffolds support learning, but they aren’t designed to remain forever.
Support is gradually reduced as students become increasingly capable of approaching learning independently.
Hi, I'm Antonina.
I'm an experienced secondary English teacher and the founder of The Study Nook.
After more than a decade in the classroom, I've seen students approach English with different strengths and learning needs. Some can interpret complex texts but struggle to communicate their ideas, while others need support understanding how to approach unfamiliar tasks.
What I've learnt is that students don't always need more work. They need the skills and thinking behind the learning made visible.
These skills don't need to be left to chance.
That's why I created The Study Nook: to provide thoughtfully designed English programs and personalised support, grounded in explicit teaching and real classroom experience.
My focus is on helping students understand what they're learning, why it matters and how to apply it independently.
