After more than a decade teaching secondary English, I kept seeing the same thing: students were often capable, but the expectations of English were not always made clear.

They were being asked to annotate, analyse, structure responses, use evidence and think more independently — often without fully understanding the thinking behind those tasks.

The Study Nook was created to make that learning clearer.

Our Philosophy

At The Study Nook, we believe learning should feel clear, purposeful and achievable.

Students should understand what they are doing, why they are doing it and how to use that learning again.

We believe support should build capability, not dependence, and that strong learning happens when students are taught how to think not simply how to follow a formula.

Every student deserves the opportunity to feel capable in the classroom because they understand how to approach the learning in front of them.
